I’ve worked for several ad agencies, where I wrote radio, print, digital, TV and more. What I love about agency life is there is no tedium. I crafted copy and concepts for a broad range of clients including telecom, healthcare, education, travel, and more. Each brand had a unique POV, voice, and tone, and I enjoyed writing as a chameleon and capturing the essence of each brand.

Choose your character

The way we watch TV has changed dramatically. Customers no longer want the prescribed 50 channels, when they really only watch their three go-to channels. With GCI’s AK Choice TV, customers can choose the exact channels they want, so they can hang out with their favorite characters, anytime, anywhere.

This was written at the height of the Game of Thrones Fandom, and if you’re wondering who the lucky person was who got to drop a juicy turkey leg and a real sword, it was me.

Unveiling unlimited - GCI

Our telecom client was finally ready to release high-speed, 5G internet. A huge feat for a smaller, local company faced with the unique challenges that come with Alaska, but nothing new to their Lower-48 competitors. So how do you create buzz around something that’s already been done? You say it louder, stronger, and create unparalleled hype while using recognizable Alaska landscapes and scenes to emphasize that GCI is the ultimate local carrier.

Get home faster

Our millennial audience wasn’t sure if home-buying was for them, and were tuning out surrounding home-buying messaging. To stand out and connect with them, we created a nostalgic 8-bit-themed campaign featuring dragons, unicorns, and avocados. The print, banner ads, and radio ads brought fun to an often intimidating subject and broke through the noise, delivering a simple message: Get home faster with Residential Mortgage. Just play to win.

Alaska’s strongest connection

Telecom doesn’t typically conjure up the warm fuzzies. We saw this as an opportunity to take one of the most hated industries and humanize it by telling the real story of a family’s ability to stay connected in the largest, most remote state through the power of GCI.

The hospital doctors choose

Fairbanks, Alaska, is a small community where everyone can rely on one another, including doctors. While they can go out of state for their medical needs, doctors at FMH stay in-state for the best facility and medical team around — their own.

I interviewed multiple staff members to authentically tell the true stories of doctors choosing doctors at FMH.
