Brooks Running
My passion for writing intersects with my love for running; a dream come true. Working for this footwear brand allowed me the opportunity to lean into the Brooks voice, a combination of wit, wonder, and wisdom. I believe my joy for the job and passion for storytelling comes through in these examples.
Brooks rebrand
The Brooks brand voice is strong and is founded on wit, wisdom, and a welcoming nature. Writing for a brand with a strong sense of self has been a great opportunity to challenge and strengthen my writing skills through the practice of staying true to Brooks, no matter the medium.
In 2023, the creative team was presented with the opportunity to rebrand after 25 years. It was a collaborative process that challenged all of us, but it pushed us to refine, strengthen, and hone in on who we are as a brand and how we consistently show up globally. The result was sunsetting “Run Happy” and embracing a new era: “Let’s Run There.”
This platform invites everyone in and challenges them to venture anywhere they wish to go with Brooks by their side.
Run with respect
This project will always be special. I’m honored to have had the privilege to work with and learn from the indigenous peoples of the land since time immemorial to create a piece that reminds runners to stop, slow down, and be stewards of the Native land they recreate on.
To craft the right message, we partnered with the original caretakers of the land we filmed on, the Snoqualmie Tribe, and hired a Native director and crew. Together, we sourced three non-native people who had learned how to move slowly and intentionally through Native teachings and applied those learnings to their run every day. I conducted the interviews and helped source the soundbites to be paired with visuals for a cohesive, reflective story that was later nominated for a Northwest Emmy.
Feel the energy shift
A good run has the power to shift your energy, and that momentum can help carry you through your entire day. We captured that feeling and energy in this spot for one of Brooks’ most loved running shoes.
Hyperion Max 2
You don’t have to be an elite to train like one. This campaign targeted those who admire and mimic what the pros are wearing with one simple headline,“Train like a champion.”
We’re all powered by something - brand spot
Whether it’s catching the first morning light, the social energy, or the thrill of careening down technical terrain, we are all powered by something. In this brand spot, featuring the new Let’s Run There wrapper, we highlight different ‘whys’ and encourage runners to chase their own.
Happy Landings
Our BlueLine Lab creates shoes in limited quantity, featuring out-of-this-world technology. The first to be released was their Aurora BL with gravity-defying cushion. We took every swing we had at fun while educating the viewer on the unique technological benefits of the shoe. (Under the previous Run Happy branding.)
Run Lucky
Not everyone can say they’ve incorporated a dog turd into their creative ad, but I can, and that’s something no one can take away from me. I’m just lucky I guess. (Under the previous Run Happy branding.)
